Royal Victoria Infirmary Ward 35 NICU, United Kingdom Kangaroo Care Day (May 15) Celebration

Royal Victoria Infirmary Ward 35 NICU, United Kingdom Kangaroo Care Day (May 15) Celebration
"We are a Level 3 neonatal unit in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Last May was our first entry into the kangaroo-a-thon. We are passionate about delivering FiCare, so this is a great event to take part in. We (nurses) made special keepsakes to mark the day for families: knitted hats with 'I love skin-to-skin' labels, which babies wore during kangaroo care, photo frames, and hanging Roo decorations (all pictured above). We also decorated the unit. We were thrilled to find out we placed sixth in this global event! We entered again for WPD and received special recognition. We are making May KC Awareness Month and hope to do well again in this event!"
